For
a property and casualty auto insurer, Marconi Pacific conducted an
assessment of the impact of ADAS technologies and vehicle automation on
crash reduction and auto premiums in the US market. The work involved
assessing the state of ADAS technology, forecasting likely OEM
introduction dates for various generations of the technology and
forecasting the magnitude of crash reduction.
Further work built scenarios of development and diffusion of the
technology and built a complex diffusion model to predict various
possible futures, including the possible shift of liability from
drivers to vehicles. Numerous recommendations were made regarding steps
the client could take to improve its position over the time frame of
this technological revolution.
